3. Tools and data processors we use
Here is what we run, why, and where your data goes. Every tool sits in the EU. We don’t share your data with ad networks.
Google Analytics (GA4) transfers data to the US. This conflicts with Hostner’s EU-data positioning. Before publishing: either enable IP anonymisation + data processing in the EU (GA4 setting), implement a server-side proxy, or replace with a privacy-friendly self-hosted alternative. Confirm with counsel before publishing this page.
4. Crypto payments
You can pay with crypto and sign up under a pseudonym. But crypto is not anonymous transactions are visible on-chain. If the law requires us to verify your identity, we will. Pseudonymous is not a free pass.
Hostner supports crypto payments and allows pseudonymous registration. This means you can sign up and use our services without providing your real name, as long as no legal trigger applies.
However, you should be aware of the following:
- Crypto is not anonymous. Transactions are recorded on a public blockchain. The transaction reference, wallet address, and amount are visible on-chain and outside our control.
- Legal obligations apply. Depending on transaction amounts and applicable regulations — including anti-money laundering law (WWFT) and EU crypto-asset regulation (MiCA) — we may be required to verify your identity before or during your use of our services.
- Data may be shared. If required by law or competent authority, we may be required to share transaction data or identity information. We will always act within the limits of applicable law.
We are transparent about these obligations. Using Hostner under a pseudonym does not exempt you from legal requirements that apply to you or to us.
COUNSEL: Add the specific KYC trigger thresholds (transaction amounts), WWFT record-keeping periods, and any MiCA-specific disclosure obligations. These are operational/compliance facts — confirm exact numbers with AML counsel before publishing.
